The Dalima Group has signed MoU with the Jharkhand government to set up a power plant in the state.
The group company, DCB Power Ventures Limited has decided to set up the power plant in Deoghar district. This will be the first mega power plant of the district and generate around 1320 MW.
Sources in the state energy department said that the company had expressed interest in setting up a power plant in the state a couple of years back. After conducting preliminary study, the company zeroed in on Deoghar district owing to its proximity to coal block and water sources.
Mr Vinod Kumar Mishra deputy energy secretary said that the department expects fast progress in implementation of the project. The company first identified land for the project in Deoghar after which it approached the state government.
He revealed some other big-ticket power companies including Moser Baer Power and Infrastructure Limited, Lanco and India Power Corporation Limited are also keen in investing in the state.
He said that Moser Baer Power is scouting for land and we expect that they will also very soon identify site. The government is doing its best to support serious players for that more power companies come and invest in the state.
