
Danieli Corus, with its headquarters in The Netherlands, is expanding its operation in India.
It plans to use only 10% of overseas content in projects in India with an eye to develop high class vendors to become more competitive. Subsequently, India could be used as global supply center.
Mr Peter Zonneveld MD of Danieli Corus has closely observed the progress of the Indian steel industry over his frequent visits to India during the last 25 years.
He feels that it is only matter of time that India will become the second largest steel producer after China.
Mr Gajendra Panwar MD of India Operations feels that the Indian steel industry, which has had a steady growth of above 9% over last five years, will continue to do so in the next decade as well, the steel production having more than doubled over the last decade.
Danieli Corus has built blast furnaces all over the world with many record making feats with its copper plate cooling technology ensuring the campaign life of the blast furnace exceeding 20 years. Danieli Corus has worked with all major players in the Indian steel industry, both public and private.
