Dhamra Port receives first ship with loading unloading equipments

BL reported that Dhamra port, though not fully ready for operation yet, received the first ship on Monday.
The Chinese vessel, MV Zhen Hua - 11, used the 18 kilometre channel, to reach the port jetty. The ship is carrying ship loader and ship unloader for installation at the port.
The ship loader, with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes an hour, the unloader with 2800 TPH, are the largest such equipment anywhere in the world.
The unloading operation of these machines will commence on Tuesday.
The vessel had left China on January 22. After the unloading the equipment, the ship is scheduled to sail back to Shanghai after 10 days. T
Dhamra port is being set up by Dhamra Port Company Ltd, a 50:50 JV of L&T and TATA Steel.
