It is reported that a fire broke out in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

Company officials said that the fire in the plant’s Steel Melting Shop broke out due to a short circuit, they said, adding it was a minor incident.

The official added that there were no casualties.

The facility’s operation was also not affected.

They added that however, nearly 60 tonnes of liquid iron was thrown out of the system due to the accident.

Exact loss to the plant would be known only after an investigation.
