Mr BC Tripathi CMD of GAIL India Ltd while addressing a press conference said that GAIL (India) Ltd is betting on imported gas to meet the country’s energy requirements. The company plans to buy four spot cargoes in January to March quarter of the current fiscal.
Speaking to newspersons after the company’s board meeting Mr Tripathi said to meet the domestic demand the company is aggressively looking at short term/long term contracts. He added that GAIL has been in talks with five to six players including Macquarie Energy to source liquefied natural gas. The price of gas should be attractive enough for GAIL to get it into India.
