Great Eastern Energy Corp Ltd said it has completed laying the pipeline from Asansol to Durgapur in West Bengal that will transport the gas from below coal seams.
GEECL in a statement said that GEECL has successfully completed the testing of the final section of that pipeline and that the entire pipeline has been charged with gas. With this the company now has a 77.62 kilometer pipeline network, comprising its coal bed methane wells to Kulti, Asansol and Durgapur in the state.
It said that “The pipeline system which is capable of carrying up to 35 million standard cubic feet per day is part of a vertically integrated network consisting of drilling, production, compression, transportation and distribution services.”
Mr Prashant Modi president & COO of GEECL said the pipeline would help the firm supply gas to customer. He added that “This project opens up new commercial markets for GEECL and is as such a milestone for the company.”
