
A top company official said that the proposed plant of Gujarat NRE Coke in Andhra Pradesh is awaiting clearance from the environment ministry.
Mr Arun Jagatramka chairman of Gujarat NRE Coke said that “We are waiting for the environmental clearance of Andhra Pradesh plant. We are expecting to get within two to three months.”
The AP plant would have capacity to produce 1.5 million tonne per annum of coke, he said, adding that a 100 MW waste heat recovery plant would also be set up. The total investment in the AP plant would be INR 1100 crore.
Regarding the existing coke plant in Gujarat, he said that would be Brownfield expansion. The capacity at the Gujarat plant is 700,000 million tonne per annum.
