Reuters reported that India's leading engineering construction company HCC has signed a MoU with the international engineering and project management company AMEC plc to jointly explore the application of consulting and EPC services for the establishment of nuclear power plants in India.

Announcing the tie up, Mr Ajit Gulabchand CMD of HCC said that "This partnership will enhance India's ability to implement the new generation of nuclear power technologies. HCC is the country's leading player in nuclear power plant construction. AMEC, with its globally benchmarked nuclear technology experience, is the ideal partner to help catapult India to the cutting edge of nuclear power generation. Our partnership will provide flexible and technology independent platforms to reduce the cost of building new nuclear power plants in India."
