
The oil recovery pollution control vessel MV Jal Sudhak was delivered to the Visakhapatnam Port Trust on Monday by the Hindusthan Shipyard Ltd at a function in the shipyard.
According to a press release issued by HSL, the vessel is 18.5 meters long, 5 meters wide and 2.5 meters deep and has a free running speed of six knots. Gross tonnage of the vessel is 57 tonnes with three men manning it.
The vessel is equipped with some of the special machinery systems with dispersant system for spraying onto the polluted water surface and transferring the recovered oil to storage tanks. It is also fitted with a debris recovery system which improves the waters in the harbor.
This is the 149th vessel since inception of the shipyard.
