Haldia Petrochemicals to undergo technical audit

West Bengal Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee said that a technical audit of Haldia Petrochemicals would be carried out to assess the condition of the machinery of the plant.

Stating there were plans to increase the level of polymer production to 240 tonnes per hour from the present 180 tonne per hour, Mr Chatterjee told reporters here that for this a technical audit was required and talks were on with an expert. He said that "A review meeting on HPL was held during.”

During the last fiscal, HPL's loss was INR 400 crore. In the first quarter of current fiscal, the loss was INR 260 crore. Chatterjee said that Indian Oil Corporation had increased the quantum of naphtha supplies to HPL.
