The 49th National Metallurgists’ Day and 65th Annual Technical Meeting of the Indian Institute of Metals was organized by IIM, Hyderabad chapter in association with student Chapters at NIT- Warangal, MGIT- Hyderabad and JNTU, Hyderabad at Leonia International Centre for Exhibitions and Conventions, Hyderabad from November 13 -16, 2011.

IT BHU Metallurgy Department had a strong presence in the function with both faculty and students giving oral and posters presentations.

IIM Honorary Membership - Awarded to Dr V Ramaswamy, Professor, Dept. of Metallurgical Engineering, PSGCT, Coimbatore. (Alumnus,1960)

IIM NALCO Gold Medal - Awarded to Mr Dinesh Kumar Kohly, COO, Hindalco Industries Ltd, Renukoot

IIM Dr AK Bose Medal - Awarded to Ms Jyoti Kushwaha, Dept Metallurgical Engineering, IT-BHU for best Masters Dissertation under the guidance of Prof TR Mankhand
