The Ministry of Mines, Government of India and the Ministry of Energy & Mines, Government of British Columbia Province, Canada have signed a MoU on cooperation in the field of Geology and Mineral Resources in the presence of Mr Dinsha J Patel minister of state for mines (independent charge) government of India and HE Ms Christy Clark premier of British Columbia Government.

The MoU is expected to promote mutual cooperation in the mining and Geo science sector and also to encourage and foster mining investment, transfers of technology& services and joint ventures in British Columbia and in India which will be beneficial for both the countries.

Under this MoU a Joint Working Group will be set up to coordinate implementation of activities and the first meeting of the Working Group is expected to be held in the month of March, 2012.
