Indian Railway revenue growth in Apr to Nov

The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during 1st April to 30th November 2013 were INR 89339.64 crore compared to INR 78871.47 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 13.27%. The total goods earnings have gone up from INR 54482.80 crore during April 1st to November 30th 2012 to INR 60150.41 crore during April 1st to November 30th 2013, registering an increase of 10.40%.

The total passenger revenue earnings during April 1st to November 30th 2013 were INR 24523.69 crore compared to INR 20423.28 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 20.08%.

The total approximate numbers of passengers booked during April 1st to November 30th 2013 were 5662.38 million compared to 5695.10 million during the same period last year.

Indian Railways have carried 677.56 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during April to November 2013. The freight carried shows an increase of 30.55 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 647.01 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 4.72%. In the January to November 2013, Indian Railway has achieved scrap sale of INR 2971.65 crore till November 2013.
