
Bloomberg reported that power producers and steelmakers in India imported 31% more of the fuel in August compared with last year/
Indian buyers imported 12.98 million tonnes of coal at 21 of 27 ports listed by Interocean, a New Delhi based ship broker as against 9.9 million tonnes in August 2011.
The shipments comprised 9.98 million tonnes of steam coal and 3 million tonnes of coking coal.
