DHNS reported that AP Home minister Ms P Sabita Indra Reddy has defended her decision to allot iron ore mines to the Obulapuram Mining Company owned by Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy when she was the mines minister.

In an informal talk with media persons on Friday, Ms Sabita said the OMC gave an undertaking to the government that it will use the Obulapuram iron ore mines as captive for the Brahmani Steels project in Kadapa, based on which she cleared the file allotting the mines.

She said “I have not committed any mistake, nor have I granted any undue favor. Since the OMC came forward with a proposal for Brahmani Steels, we did our part. In the note file, I have clearly mentioned captive mining, which was subsequently deleted in the GO.”
