It is reported that Indian Union Ministry of Defence, which has from February taken over the administration of Hindustan Shipyard Ltd from the Ministry of Shipping will invest in the modernisation and upgrading of the shipyard for building vessels required by the Indian Navy.

As per report the Ministry of Defence will take all steps to realise the full potential of HSL in building vessels for the Navy.

As per directive the workers should also upgrade their skills to meet future challenges as so far they have been building commercial vessels.
