
During the first 5 months of 2011 the commercial exchange between Italy and India increased by 29.3% against same period of 2010.
Whereas the export of Italy to India has grown by 21%, the Indian export to Italy has increased by 36%.
Particularly export of steel and metal products to Italy has increased by 60%, which is 12% of the total export to Italy.
Main Indian export items to Italy are Textiles, clothes and leather goods with a share of 26.6% on total export to Italy. Marble and granite of course are also important. Main item of Italian export to India are machinery and machine tools.
Italy is no 4th largest European exporter to India, after Germany, Belgium and England.
