THE Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust has been awarded the "Rajbhasha Shield" and certificate for excellent implementation of the official language in 2010-11. The award, instituted by the Union Ministry of Shipping, is given to Port Trusts and PSUs under it.

On the occasion of the Hindi Salahkar Samiti meeting organised by the Ministry in New Delhi last week, Mr L Radhakrishnan IAS chairman of JNPT, received the shield and certificate from Mr GK Vasan union minister for shipping, in the presence of Mr K Mohandas secretary shipping and others.

JNPT had earlier been honored with the "Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar which was given by the president of India, Ms Pratibha Devisingh Patil to the chairman on September 14.
