Jindal Education Initiatives, a philanthropic initiative of Jindal Steel and Power said it has signed an agreement with Montgomery College in the US and Wadhwani Foundation for imparting training to technical trade instructors.
As per the agreement, Jindal Education Initiatives would be the implementing partner providing "hard infrastructure" like training facilities and staffing, while Montgomery College would provide technical expertise using a mutually agreed upon cost-recovery model.
The Wadhwani Foundation would be the capacity building partner augmenting "soft infrastructure" like curriculum and courseware development, faculty development and the enabling technology platform, the statement said.
It added that "The collaboration will develop, implement, monitor and evaluate a technical trade instructor training program and related instructional materials with a view to scale-up nationally," it added.
The agreement aims to address India's increasing need for educated and skilled personnel. India Inc is often faced with a scarcity of skilled professionals.
Mr Naveen Jindal CMD of JSPL in a statement said that "Given the complementary objectives and capabilities, the MoU proposes to collaborate on developing a state-of-the-art, world-class, advanced training program for technical trade instructors, comprising curricula that are industry job driven and progressive.”
