KSK Power to buy wind turbines from Chinese firm

KSK Power Group predominantly into thermal power, intends to procure 250 MW of wind turbines from Dongfang Electric Corporation Ltd of China. The companies are to sign a contract on December 15 in New Delhi.

According to a company press release, KSK Group operates 550 MW of thermal and 52 MW of wind power projects in India. It has set a target of increasing the installed capacity to 900 MW by April 2011.

In wind energy, where it wants to expand, the company is in the process of completing works of 18.9 MW wind farm in Tamil Nadu. Firming up plans for a 50 MW wind farm in Andhra Pradesh and harnessing 250 MW in Karnataka with local developers are also under way.
