Lanco Infratech Ltd said that its 1,200 MW would soon start supplying power to Uttar Pradesh. Ms Mayawati CM of Uttar Pradesh dedicated the company's 1,200 MW Anpara C thermal power plant to the state on Saturday.

Lanco Anpara Power Ltd synchronized first and second units of the plant in March and September 2011. The group's total generating capacity stands at 3,892 MW

Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam had awarded the coal based Anpara C project to Lanco in September 2006 through a tariff-based competitive bidding.

Mr L Madhusudhan Rao executive chairman of Lanco Infratech said that "It is worthwhile to note that during the last three years, the company has grown from the total installed capacity of 500 MW to 3892 MW which is the current capacity. In addition, projects under various stages of construction will contribute about 6000 MW of additional capacity over the next three years."

The company constructed the project within a compact area of 257 acres located close to the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam operating plants of Anpara A and Anpara B.
