India’s exports during July, 2010 were valued at USD 16240 million (INR 76064 crore) which was 13.2% higher in Dollar terms (9.4% higher in Rupee terms) than the level of USD 14341 million (INR 69521 crore) during July 2009. Cumulative value of exports for the period April to July 2010 was USD 68629 million (INR 315302 crore) as against USD 52737 million (INR 256739 crore) registering a growth of 30.1% in dollar terms and 22.8% in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

India’s imports during July 2010 were valued at USD 29170 million (INR 136625 crore) representing a growth of 34.3% in Dollar terms (29.7% in Rupee terms) over the level of imports valued at USD 21724 million (INR 105312 crore) in July, 2009. Cumulative value of imports for the period April to July, 2010 was USD 112214 million (INR 515617 crore) as against USD 84156 million (INR 409518 crore) registering a growth of 33.3% in Dollar terms and 25.9% in Rupee terms over the same period last year.

Oil imports during July, 2010 were valued at USD 7665 million which was 4.4% higher than oil imports valued at USD 7344 million in the corresponding period last year. Oil imports during April to July, 2010 were valued at USD 32941 million which was 37.3% higher than the oil imports of USD 23993 million in the corresponding period last year.

Non oil imports during July, 2010 were estimated at USD 21505 million which was 49.6% higher than non oil imports of USD 14379 million in July 2009. Non oil imports during April to July, 2010 were valued at USD 79273 million which was 31.8% higher than the level of such imports valued at USD 60163 million in April to July, 2009.

The trade deficit for April to July, 2010 was estimated at USD 43585 million which was higher than the deficit of USD 31420 million during April to July 2009.
