BL reported that maoists blasted a pump house attached to a pipeline on the Andhra Pradesh Orissa border at Chitrakonda late on Tuesday night.

The Maoists, it is learnt, attacked the pump house at 11 PM. They inflicted heavy damage on the air conditioning plant, furniture, cranes and other equipment at Chitrakonda, which is in Orissa.

Several times in the past, the Maoists have damaged the pipeline or related property, but this time it was heavy.

The 270 kilometer pipeline brings in iron ore slurry from Bailadilla to the pelletization plant of the Essar Group.
