The Hindu reported that 6 contract workers fell ill after gas leaked from a pipeline in the Steel Melt Shop-I of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Monday.

The workers were referred to Visakha Steel General Hospital where they were administered first aid and later discharged.

A spokesman for VSP, who described the incident as minor’ said after the workers reported giddiness and irritation while cutting grass below the gas pipeline, they were referred to doctors.
