Indian steel markets, contrary to global trends, continued on positive trends last week, with the INR devaluation of more than 10% negating the slide in HR prices during last 2 months.
Unconfirmed reports point to a situation that Indian steel majors are contemplating hiking prices for November to make the most of it. We have to wait to see what course of action they would chart for November sales
The Indian Long Product Price Index ILPPI surged by 14 points last week whereas Indian Flat Products Index IFPPI has also gone up by 22 points. The overall price index INDSPI inclined by 18 points.
