The Indian domestic steel market continued to face contrary trends for longs and flats last week, as longs remained stable while flat products lost about1% sheen.
Despite weakening of INR to record level of 51 plus, surge in booking of import cargoes of flat products seem to be dragging down the mood among the market players depressing domestic prices.
The Indian Long Product Price Index ILPPI has gone down by 1 point last week whereas Indian Flat Products Index IFPPI has also gone down by 84 points. The overall price index INDSPI declined by 41 points.
