The gory tale of market morass continues with most of the Indian steel mills shying leaving the prices for long and flat product untouched for December so far.
Although much was expected to unfold after the festivities but it has come out to be a cropper over the last fortnight. Unconfirmed report mention that one of the steel majors has hiked the rebar prices by INR 300 per tonne but it is a pittance given the addiction of drawbacks.
With a significant rally in international levels for both long and flat product the Indian mills opted for status quo lest sluice gate opens for imports.
The Indian Long Product Price Index ILPPI went up by 9 points last week whereas Indian Flat Products Index IFPPI went down by 10 points. The overall price index INDSPI inclined by 1 point.
