BL reported that Mr SS Mohanty CEO of SAIL's Bokaro Steel Plant has been awarded the SMS - DEMAG Excellence Award 2011 for his outstanding contribution in the steel industry.

The award was conferred to him under the 49th National Metallurgist Day awards of the Indian Institute of Metals.

Mr Mohanty has spearheaded many projects undertaken by SAIL in its facilities in Bhilai and Rourkela.
