The new complex is located near the institute’s airstrip and resembles a futuristic super sonic aircraft. The 100,000 square feet complex is set up at a cost of INR 11 crore. The money is part of the Central government’s INR 100 crore grant to IISc.

On the occasion, Mr Tata interacted with the students and visited the Micro Air Vehicle and Unmanned Air Vehicle Laboratory apart from inspecting the models developed by the department.

He was also briefed on the projects undertaken by the department along with the Indian Space Research Organisation and the Defence Research Development Organisation.
