The North Eastern Electric Power Corporation is expected to add another 800 MW to the North East by 2013.

As per report work on NEEPCO's 100 MW Pare hydroelectric project in Arunachal Pradesh and 100 MW Tripura gas based project is expected to start soon. Work on 600 MW Kameng project in Arunachal Pradesh is under construction and is slated to be completed by December 2012.

Currently, the company has a production capacity of 1,130 MW through its projects in the North East region. However, due to the decrease in rainfall and other factors, NEEPCO has been able to generate about 960 MW.
