National Thermal Power Corporation the largest thermal power generating company of India announced a rise of 1.96% in the net profit for the quarter ended September 30th 2009.

During the quarter, the company reported a profit of INR 21,519.50 million as against profit of INR 21,105.10 million for the quarter ended September 30th 2008.

In the same period, total income of the company was at INR 115237.90 million a decline of 10.74% over the prior year period.
