Exim News reported that Visakhapatnam Port has set an all time record in loading steel billets in a day recently.

According to a press release, a quantity of 7,265 tonnes, with a hook output of 605 tonnes of steel billets, was loaded on to the vessel MV Vinalines Unity, for Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Chhattisgarh, at East Quay-3 on October 4.

This surpassed the previous best loading mark of 5,360 tonnes, with a hook output of 447 tonnes, on to the vessel MV S Venus on July 28, 2009.

Seaways Shipping Ltd and J.M. Baxi & Company were the stevedore and steamer agent, respectively, for the vessel MV Vinalines Unity.
