
Chennai based UPS company Numeric Power Systems Ltd is planning to set up a one mega watt solar project in Coimbatore with an investment of INR 25 crore. The company already has a 1.5 MW windmill farm in the same location.
Mr R Chellappan MD of Numeric Power announcing the company’s foray into solar power said that the company had installed about 200 kWP of solar power generation systems for captive use besides over 500 kWP for other customers.
The company which completed 25 years of operations will buy solar cells from Japan and Germany. It would configure panel modules and assemble at the proposed Coimbatore facility.
Mr Chellappan added that “We are also toying with the idea of foraying into the precision air-conditioning space with a strategic partner.”
To promote green energy, the company recently launched a 100 per cent subsidiary, Numeric Solar Energy Pvt Ltd.
