
The Orissa Mining Corporation Limited has added another glorious feather to its cap by bagging the ISO 14001 Certification. The certificate was awarded after a thorough audit by the internationally accredited certification agency NQAQSR.
OMC becomes the first State PSU in Orissa to have this distinction in the 2004 version. Mr Padmanabha Behera minister of steel and mines gave away the certificate to Secretary of Steel and Mines Department and Mr UP Singh chairman of OMC.
The certificate reiterates the State run OMC maintains higher standards in the Environment Management System in its Daitari Iron Ore Project, Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plant and operating mines of Chrome Zone, Kaliapani, South-Kaliapani and Sukrangi.
Earlier, the OMC had bagged the ISO 9001 Quality Management Certification for its Daitari, COBP, operating mines of Chrome zone and Shipment office of Paradip.
