A Bangladeshi worker was killed while his co worker was seriously injured when fire gutted a factory that disposes waste material at the Kerubung Industrial Park Friday night.

Jalan Kubu Fire and Rescue Department head Yazid Mohd Tahir said that the victim Anural Islam died at the scene while another Bangladeshi worker only known as Nazarul suffered serious burns.

He said that "During the 10 PM incident, both workers were disposing used tires into a furnace when a steel door burst into flames and hit them.” He added that two fire engines from Jalan Kubu and Bukit Katil were rushed to the scene at 10.20pm after receiving a distress call from the public and managed to douse the fire in 20 minutes.

He said that "We are investigating the cause of the fire and the estimated loses.”
