
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has signed a bi lateral agreement with NTPC Ltd for turnkey execution of 44 kilometers long 400 KV D/C Transmission line from Dadri to Loni at an estimated cost of INR 47 crores. It is a very time bound prestigious project as is linked with Commonwealth Games.
The Agreement has been signed by Mr HL Tayal EDBusiness Development of PGCIL and Mr KK Agarwal regional ED National Capital of NTPC in presence of CMD of PGCIL and other senior officials of PGCIL and NTPC.
PGCIL will undertake complete design, engineering, tendering, evaluation, procurement, project management, erection, testing and commissioning of the Project.
Though severe Right of Way problem is anticipated during construction of the line due to proximity to Delhi Urban Area, PGCIL will put in its best efforts for completion of the line by August 2010, as this will cater the requirement of Commonwealth Games.
PGCIL is one of the largest utility in the World which owns and operates about 71500 Ckt kilometers of transmission lines up to 765 KV and 120 substations with transformation capacity of about 79500 MVA. 45% of the total power generated in the country is being wheeled by PGCIL. Revenue earned by PGCIL through such consultancy Assignments has grown from INR 128 crores to INR 235 crores during last 5 years.
