
It is reported that a two member team led by Deputy Managing Director Mr Ryi Chan met Chief Secretary Mr Bijay Patnaik and IDCO Chairman and Managing Director Mr PK Jena to discuss the progress in taking up the construction work and the preparedness to renew the lapsed MoU.
Mr Patnaik said to media that “We discussed about the steps being taken by both the Government and the company on how to materialise the mega steel project near Paradip.”
He said they informed that Posco had agreed to the conditions of the State Government to facilitate signing of the tripartite agreement and the renewal of the MoU.
Mr Patnaik said the draft MoU was ready and the revised deal would be signed after approval by the Chief Minister. Steps are being taken to transfer requisite land to Posco as soon as possible.
