The people, earlier considered as the pro project group, detained the vehicles at Gada Kujang village, demanding fulfillment of their demands before start of work at the plant site villages. The villagers said they would not allow work in the proposed plant site villages unless they were satisfied with the rehabilitation package.
Meanwhile, the people opposing the project under the banner of POSCO Pratirodh Sangram Samiti have intensified their agitation by sitting on dharna after erecting bamboo gates at the entrance of Dhinkia village.
PPSS had intensified its anti POSCO agitation after arrest of its president Abhay Sahu last month. With Mr Sahu remaining in jail, CPI leader and former party MLA Mr Narayan Reddy has been leading the anti-POSCO agitation.
