BS reported that the district administration in Jagatsinghpur has decided to conduct the meeting of Rehabilitation and Peripheral Development Advisory Committee in the last week of this month for POSCO’s steel project.

The decision to hold the RPDAC meeting comes close on the heels of POSCO getting the forest clearance from the Union ministry of environment and forests.

The RPDAC meet is aimed at finalizing the compensation package for the families affected by project to be set up near Paradip.

It may be noted that the RPDAC meet to finalize the package for the POSCO project which was originally scheduled to be held on November 16th 2009 as per the directive of the Orissa government had to be deferred.
