
BL reported that Mr Naveen Patnaik chief minister of Orissa has accepted the demand of the leaders of six Opposition parties to meet the representatives of the POSCO Pratirodh Sangram Samiti, the organization that has been strongly opposing establishment of the proposed steel plant of POSCO in the Erasama area of Jagatsinghpur district.
The meeting between a group of seven representatives of PPSS and the CM will be held at the State Secretariat on Sunday afternoon.
This is for the first time that Mr Patnaik will meet the villagers who have been demanding shifting of the POSCO project site from the gram panchayats of Dhinkia, Nuagaon and Gadakujang in Erasama area to any other place.
The meeting between the leaders of the six parties and Mr. Patnaik was held on the initiatives of the six parties that were of the view that the controversy over the POSCO project should be resolved through a dialogue at the political level.
