Orissa chief secretary Mr Bijoy Patnaik said that the sate government would take steps to persuade the children participating in the anti POSCO movement to go to schools and initiate measures to withdraw the police personnel accomodated in schools in the POSCO project areas.
Mr Patnaik told media that he had received an 11 page report from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights which visited the POSCO areas and probed into the allegation that children were coerced to participate in the protest against the state government’s land acquisition process.
The copies of the report have been sent to all District Collectors for necessary action.
He asserted that the recommendation of the NCPCR would be implemented by the state government.
