
Projects Today reported that Patel Engineering is likely to complete land acquisition for its 2 power projects in Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh shortly.
However, it has acquired 5 acre for the 120 MW Gongri hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh and currently is in the final process to complete the land acquisition. Besides, it requires 20 acre for the 1,000 MW thermal power project at Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu which will be acquired by September 2009.
As per report, the Gongri project is estimated to cost INR 800 crore and while the Nagapattinam project is worth INR 5,500 crore. It plans to spend INR 25 crore each on the projects during this fiscal.
Meanwhile, the DPRs for both the projects are being finalized and slated to be commissioned by 2013.
