The Statesman reported that West Bengal industries minister Mr Partha Chatterjee told the WB state Assembly that the delay in the Jindal Group’s steel plant project at Salboni is due to the previous Left Front government's sloppy drafting of various agreements because of its sheer lack of skill.

Answering a question, the minister said the previous government had shown more interest in publicising the project rather than properly executing the paper work.

He said “Agreements on land acquisition and providing shares to land losers, electricity connection and water supply for the plant hadn't been made the way they should have been.”

He informed that the new government is giving proper shape to these matters.
