Prism Cement Ltd has announced that the management has declared a lock out at one of the Tile manufacturing plant situated at Karaikal in Pondicherry with effect from September 7th 2010, pursuant to an illegal strike and physical assault of the Plant Managers in the factory by some misguided workers to force a long term wage settlement.

The Tile manufacturing plant being a small plant had recorded a gross turnover of approximately INR 50 crores out of the total gross turnover of the Company of approximately INR 3000 crores for the Financial Year 2009-10. The impact of lock out is therefore not significant.
