Project today reported that Punjab Cabinet on November 6th 2008 gave its in principle approval for setting up a 1,200 MW coal based power plant at Rajpura in Paliala. Nabha Power will be developing the project.

As per report, the power project will spread over 1,078.16 acre and will be implemented on BOO basis in two units of 2x660 MW each. Work on the project is likely to be inaugurated on December 8th 2008.
