RINL organized 3rd Local Stake Holder Meeting for 6 Clean Development Mechanism Projects at Centre for HRD, on December 7th 2011.

The Projects undertaken under this scheme are

1. 2*60 MW Waste BF gas based captive power plant

2. Installation of Energy Efficient Air separation unit

3. Pulverized Coal Injection in Blast Furnaces 1 & 2

4. Waste Heat Recovery from Special Bar Mill -2

5. Waste Heat Recovery from Wire Rod Mill -2, Billet Caster in Steel Melting Shop-2.

Mr MV Rao GM (TQM-ISO) of VSP informed that these projects are likely to reduce Carbon Dioxide emissions by more than 1 million tonnes annually.

He informed that RINL is taking up these projects with intension of reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

Ms S Beena Lahari asst environmental engineer of APPCB, appreciated the efforts of RINL towards reducing Green House Gases emissions. She further requested RINL to take up some more projects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
