It is reported that a massive drive was launched by Steel Authority of India Limited’s Rourkela Steel Plant for making the steel city greener by planting more than 35,000 saplings.

The plantation program was launched on Saturday with a Tree Plantation Festival at the air strip area ‘Ispat Upavan’ which was inaugurated by Mr SN Singh MD of Rourkela Steel Plant.

More than 700 students from different schools participated in the program by planting saplings. The steel city is known for its greenery with a considerable contribution from RSP which had planted a large number of trees.
