
BL reported that Steel authority of India Limited’s Salem Steel Plant, under its CSR initiative, conducted a free medical camp at Naickenpatti, a small hamlet with a population of around 1900, located 3 kilometres from its vicinity recently.
Mr BB Singh ED SSP, while inaugurating the camp, said that Salem Steel Plant believes in inclusive growth.
A team of doctors and paramedical staff from the plant hospital screened 426 patients. Patients were given medical cards with their name and ailment details. Hundred blood sugar and 44 haemoglobin tests were conducted. Free medicines worth about INR 40,000 were given.
During the camp, common illnesses like fever, respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection and fungal infection were treated.
