
The Hyderabad based shipping and logistics service provider Seaways Group has commenced a feeder service connecting New Mangalore Port to Colombo, Mundra, Kandla, Cochin and Tuticorin.
The vessel deployed is MV Seaways Volour.
According to a release from Seaways Mangalore, the vessel arrived here on June 16, discharged 250 TEUs and loaded 100 TEUs for the connecting ports.
The release added that the cargo on board was raw cashew from West Africa, transshipped from Cochin/Colombo and the vessel sailed within 24 hours.
According to the authorities, this service has been welcomed by the local trade for its effective transshipment of cargo, lesser transit time and cost-effectiveness.
