
Mr KH Muniyappa minister of state for railways informed the Lok Sabha that in view of huge throw forward of ongoing projects and limited availability of resources, for generating additional funds State Governments have been requested to share part of the cost project.
State Governments of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and West Bengal have come forward for taking up projects on cost sharing basis and presently 31 projects covering a length of about 5000 Km are being executed on cost sharing basis with state governments.
